Computer Blues!

What a 10 days it's been...from forgetting my computer in another city (Yes, I have not had my own computer...no digi-scrapping, no games, acckk!) to having the flu with hubby (yes...that was a major obstacle!). I can finally say that I am feeling better. And, it looks like sis-in-law may be bringing my computer to me soon!

Lots of exciting things happening at MLAS...check out the forum! My Feb. ScrapLift Challenge will be up on Monday. MLAS is having a birthday party...lots of fun stuff happening!

Bubblescraps has a new kit in the MLAS store...it's beautiful and she is working on a collab with another MLAS Designer...WOW!!!!

Proud Member of the Who Dat? Nation

Yes, I am a very proud member of the New Orleans Saints Who Dat? Nation! The Saints are NFC Champs and will be visiting Miami in February! Watch out Miami...tailgating has a new meaning in Louisiana and we'll be bringing it to FL! At the end of last night's game, fireworks were going off all over the city of Lafayette and I am sure all over the state! I have stuck by the Saints through thick and thin times and I am so excited!

Use a safety pin in your layout!

Yesterday was a good day! Hubby and I slept late...he got home at 6 am from working all night. I generally digi-scrap and cook while he is at work. Then, we sleep together until he wakes up! We had gumbo for late lunch...I tried making it this time from a mix...and it was awesome! It contained turkey (I had boiled a carcass.), deer sausage, rice, and the mix. Yummies!

I made two LOs on Tuesday. Measure in Love was created for the MLAS Lyrics Challenge and features my grandparents on my parent's wedding day. I used Rebecca_psp's new kit, An Air of Elegance. Strike a Pose features my adorable niece, Maidalyn, posing in her Aunt Kristen's shoes. I used Just Sassy by Dream Big Designs and Date Circles Word Art by @ Jacquies.

I also made 2 LOs Wednesday night. Molly in the Window was created for the MLAS Scraplift Challenge and was made with designs from Rebecca_psp (Drastic Kit) and Rucola Designs (Hard Feelings Kit). New Year's Eve Party was created for the MLAS Gourmet Challenge and features some of my friends at the party. I used elements from several MLAS designers but, most of the LO uses Just Sassy by Dream Big Designs.

Layouts X 3!

I made 3 LOs tonite...all for MLAS Challenges and using MLAS designers. Christmas 2009 was created for the Template Challenge and features 12 pictures of holiday fun. Embarrassing...Yes was created for the Project 52 - My Life IN Scrap Challenge and is a story about an embarrassing moment for me. 2010 Goal was created for our Biggest Loser Challenge.

I woke up to more sinus problems yesterday...the itchy eyes, runny nose, and congestion made me feel lousy. I really did very little besides making the LOs and washing a few dishes. Now, it's time to go to zzzzzzz...John will be home in 1.5 hours.

A Better Day!

Well, Sunday was a better day...I didn't make it to breakfast as I had previously planned...I slept through breakfast time! LOL! I did cook my roast in the crockpot...it was delish! I made a layout about My Favorite Food...so, you'll be able to see our meal! I used a Project 52 template by Dogs Day Design and the My Guy Ty Kit by Dream Big Designs. Now, I need to do the other half of my Project 52 for this week...a layout about my most embarrasing moment.

Wintersweet LOs

I made two LOs using Mandy King's (aka Mama Mia) new kit, Wintersweet. It will be available today at Scrapbook-Elements. It's a really kewl kit! DJ White as Snow features my friend's cat and was created as a late entry to Saturday's MLAS Speed Scrap. Ready, Aim... features a friend's son playing in the snow.

Yesterday was a cold day in south Louisiana. Hubby woke up on the wrong side of the cave...so, his mood was interesting to say the least! LOL! Men...sometimes they are so strange! Thankfully, he went to work at 10 pm...and Molly and I are enjoying the peace!

I have a beef roast defrosting and will put it in the crock pot when he gets home at 6 am. Then, hopefully I can have a fun day for myself! I plan to start by having breakfast at the local diner (about 2 blocks away)...reading the newspaper and relaxing sounds great. I'll have to pick up potatoes and butter to make whipped potatoes. Yes, Mother Hubbard's cupboard is on the empty side! LOL! His payday is this week and I will be having a grocery shopping trip!

MLAS Speed Scraps

Good Morning! I made a LO for the Friday nite SS using 2 freebie kits...Mike in the Winter Time uses A Winter's Gift by MLAS Designers and Hat and Scarf Weather by Rebecca_psp. Hat and Scarf Weather is still available on Rebecca's Blog. Mike is LSU's mascot and I found the pic on the Internet.

My two MLAS designer for January both have new items in the store...Rebecca has An Air of Elegance (Hint...it's on sale for 50% off!) and @ Jacquie has a new word art, Goals.

MLAS has a Speed Scrap today at 2 pm EST...it has a posting prize! Our chat room is a little sick so, the SS will be in the forum...just look for the link!

IvyScraps Challenge LOs and a FREEBIE!

I made 2 more LOs for IvyScraps Challenges. New Love (Template Challenge) features two of my friends and was created using A Brand New Outfit by Bubblescrap Designs (remember, it's free on her blog for the rest of the week!). Mom's Double Boiler (Ingredients Challenge) was created using items from Meegan Iverson and Dogs Day Designs.

My freebie is a Word Art and uses a flower from Bubblescrap Designs', Classic Bouquet. Freebie --> Beautiful Adorable Loveable You...it is a png file.

We are expecting to get very cold and messy weather later today and tomorrow. South Louisiana does not normally get Hard Freeze Warnings...and we have it for several days! I am hoping to get some pictures of the icy weather...I have LOs to do with winter kits! LOL!

My scrapping-self has been having fun tonite! I have digi-scrapped 4 LOs. I scrapped LOs for 3 of the MLAS Challenges. Something New (Project 52 - Photos) uses Bubblescrap Designs' New Year's Eve Kit. Life Lessons in 09 (Project 52 - My Life IN Scrap) uses Morning Happiness by MisstyScraps and Two, a template set by Kate Designs. Believe in Yourself (ScrapMix) features my niece, Alyssa and uses designs from the Drastic Kit by Rebecca_psp and Imagination Word Art by @ Jacquie's.

I also scrapped My Kitchen for the Ivy Scraps Theme Challenge using A Brand New Outfit by Bubblescrap Designs. The Theme Challenge will be featuring the rooms of our homes...January is our kitchen!

A Brand New Outfit

No...I didn't get a brand new outfit but, Mye (Bubblescrap Designs) will be having a freebie kit on her Blog this week named A Brand New Outfit. You will have to visit her Blog each day to get the parts of the kit. I made a LO with the kit...Riding at the Zoo features my niece, Maidalyn and other family members riding in a jeep at the zoo. Mae looks like she was having soooo much fun! Hmmm...my Internet is sloooow...can't get the LO to upload...will try later during the day!

First 2010 Layouts

I made 2 LOs today for MLAS challenges...I did Sharing Anna's First CHRISTmas for the Speed Scrap and Peaches 121809 for the Font Challenge. I got my new designers for January at MLAS...Rebecca_psp and @Jacquie's. You will soon be seeing LOs using their designs. Oh...Rebecca has an awesome freebie on her blog...Rebecca's Scrapping Silliness.

I am hosting the MLAS Scraplift Challenge for the first of the month. We will be lifting Marsupillami's The Cat layout. Check it out and join the fun!

I spent New Year's Eve at a party hosted by my aunt and her husband. We had lots of fun playing games...my group played Catch Phrase and the other group played Dominoes. We had lots of food...including 3 types of fondue and we toasted with champagne at midnight. (John missed the fun...he had to work!) I spent the night at my aunt's and went with them to our friends' home for New Year's Lunch. John came over when he woke up and played the new, Tie One On Game with us!
